Shimla, Oct 1 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government is considering to develop Special Education Zones in collaboration with international universities to impart world class vocational education to the students in Himachal Pradesh.

The education zone, a cluster of renowned colleges affiliated to international universities, would consist of the top colleges in IT, Bio-tech, Pharmacy and other emerging technologies, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said here last evening.

He said that the state government would encourage entrepreneurs to come to Himachal Pradesh and invest in the education sector in a big way.

"Himachal Pradesh possesses conducive climatic conditions, peace and tranquility required for serious academic and vocational studies, which is proving to be an asset to attract global players in private sector to invest in education and other developmental activities," he said.

However, the Chief Minister said that the state government would be selective in permitting the universities and all related aspects would be taken into consideration while considering the proposals of the private players.

He said that so far the private universities were coming in the border districts of the state, Solan, Kangra and Sirmour while there were much better locations in the districts of Mandi, Kullu and Shimla where such universities could be established amidst the best congenial academic environment.
