Civil Supplies Corporation earns Rs 326.02 cr turnover upto Aug 31
Shimla, Oct 1 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation has achieved a sales turnover of Rs 326.02 crores upto August 31, 2008, registering an increase of Rs 61.09 crores as compared to the sales of corresponding period of last financial year.
This was stated by Himachal Pradesh Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Ramesh Dhawala while addressing the 115th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Corporation here last evening.
Reviewing the performance of the Corporation for the first five months of the current financial year, Mr Dhawala said that the sales of subsidized items like pulses, edible oils and salt during the first five months was Rs 100.65 crores against the sale of Rs 57.90 crores during the last financial year.
In the meeting, the board approved to pay dividend of Rs 35 lakh to the state government.
The Corporation had earned a gross profit of Rs 194.09 lakh during the year 2007-08. It had achieved a sales turnover of Rs 908.86 crores.
During the meeting the board also approved creation of 10 posts in different cadres for new Area Office at Hamirpur and accorded permission for filling up of 105 posts in different categories on direct recruitment basis.
The Minister further said that three new LPG Agencies were started at Shoghi, Paddhar and Dharamshala besides one medicine shop at Civil Hospital Nurpur during last 2 months thereby raising the total number of LPG Agencies to 46 and medicine shops to 33 in the state.
