Agartala, Oct 1 (UNI) At least two people were killed and 43 others injured, including six women, in seven serial blasts that rocked Tripura tonight.
Nepal Das, DIG (Police Operations) here said the blasts were suspected to be the handiworks of Harkat-Ul-Jihadi-Islami (HuJI).
Police have detained six people in this connection, he said.
While five blasts took place around 1945 hrs, two more jolted the city around 2200 hrs, he added.
The blasts that occurred in the main market area of Maharajgunj in the heart of the capital town, Radhanagar bus stand, G B Bazar, Krishnagar and tribal-dominated Abhaynagar in the outskirts of the capital and near east Agartala police station killed two and injured 43 people.
Low-intensity time devices were used for the blasts, Mr Das said.
All the critically injured were from the busy Maharajgunj area, he added.
Police have launched a massive search operation to nab the culprits and cordoned-off the affected areas.
All the injured were admitted to different hospitals.
