4 killed, 2 injured in Jammu incidents

Jammu, Oct 1 (UNI) Four people were killed and two injured in different incidents in the last 24 hours in Jammu region, police sources said here today.

''One person was killed when a car in which he was travelling, skidded off the road and rolled down at Mangal near Katra in Reasi district late last night,'' police sources told UNI, adding the deceased was identified as Kirti Rattan Sharma, 24, resident of Tawi Vihar, Sidhra.

In another road accident, a motorcyclist was hit by an Army vehicle at Ramgarh in Samba district.

He was immediately shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital Jammu where doctors declared him as brought dead. The deceased was identified as Kapil Raj Gotra, resident of Samba.

Meanwhile, a truck driver and his associate sustained injuries, when their truck rolled down near Battery Chashma on National Highway in Ramban district.

The injured were identified as Narain Singh, resident of Dole Khad, district Kathua and Riki Verma, resident of Ramsoo were shifted to the district hospital for treatment.

A girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Nanak Nagar area today, police said.

''The deceased identified as Gursharna Kour, resident of Surankote, was found hanging with a ceiling fan under mysterious circumstances,'' police said, adding the case has been registered while investigations are in progress.

In another incident, an employee of JPI Industry was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Chanderkote.

''The deceased identified Jankak Chand, 48, resident of Kangra was found dead inside the bathroom of the Power House,'' police added asserting that inquest proceeding has been initiated.
