TRS holds talks with CPI(M)
Hyderabad, Sep 30 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasekar Rao today held talks with Communist Party of India(Marxist) State Secretary B V Raghavulu to reach an understanding ahead of the 2009 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
The two leaders had a one-to-one meeting here and discussed the ''political situation'' in the State, TRS and CPI(M) sources said.
During the meeting, Mr Rao stressed the need for the Left parties and the TRS to remain together to defeat the ruling Congress at the hustings, TRS sources said.
The TRS also wanted the CPI(M) to tone down its opposition to separate Telangana State.
CPI State Secretary K Narayana had held separate meetings with Praja Rajyam Founder-Actor Chiranjeevi and Mr Rao in an effort to evolve Third Front in the State to provide people an alternative to the ruling Congress and the Opposition TDP.
