Muzaffarpur, Sep 30 (UNI) The Bihar government today issued instructions to all district police superintendents to ensure foolproof security arrangements throughout the state in view of a spurt in terrorist attacks and the coming festive season.
Instructions to all district police superintendents were issued after a high-level meeting attended by the state Home Secretary and Director General of Police(DGP) here to review security arrangements in north Bihar districts.
Informing about the decision taken at the meeting, state DGP D N Gautam told mediapersons that instruction had been issued to launch special drive to arrest the criminals and others having suspicious activities.
''Police will also make aware the people not to touch or displace any suspected objects lying unattended at public places,'' he said and added that special cell had been set up in all districts to immediately respond any call from people regarding mysterious objects in their areas.
'' Extra care had been taken to ensure foolproof security of public properties and vital installations in naxalite affected areas,'' Mr Gautam said adding the communally sensitive areas would also be under scanner of the state police.
The meeting was also attended by district magistrates and police superintendents of 12 districts in north Bihar.
