Prohibitory orders clamped in Pratapgarh
Jaipur, Sep 29(UNI) Prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been promulgated in Pratapgarh town in Udaipur division this afternoon, following incidents of clashes, slogan shouting and stone throwing in the aftermath of damages to some idols at a religious place in the Southern Rajasthan city on Saturday night.
According to Official sources, groups of two communities made provocative gestures at different points, including Talai Mohalla, Archana Talkies, Baxi Road and Krishi Mandi. Clashes, during which some miscreants threw stones, used batons and rods, left at least one person seriously injured.
Miscreants damaged about five shops and other public properties.
The police used mild force to disperse the mob.
One person had been arrested carrying arms.
Prohibitory orders had been promulgated in the city, the sources said.
