New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) The exercise for preparation of photo electoral rolls of 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi will be completed by October 15, meeting one of the requirements for elections to the State Legislative Assembly, scheduled to be held by December 17, Delhi Chief Electoral officer Satbir Silas Bedi said today.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms Bedi said while the final publication of photo electoral rolls of 24 newly delimited Assembly constituencies of West, North and South West districts would be concluded on October 6, the publication of rolls in respect of 46 assembly constituencies of remaining six districts would conclude on October 15.

The draft publication of photo electoral rolls, as per the newly delimited constituencies, was made on August 11 and citizens of Delhi were requested to inspect their particulars and images and send their claims and objections upto September 2. The maps of newly delimited assembly constituencies were also prepared by the election office.
The copies of the draft photo electoral rolls and copies of maps of newly delimited constituencies were provided to all the seven National recognised parties with the request to inform the CEO office in case they find any discrepancy in the implementation of the delimitation order by the concerned district election officers.

She said a perusal of electoral rolls data pertaining to North, West and South West district revealed that while 82.72 per cent of the electors in North district have their photographs on the rolls, the figure was 85 per cent for electors in West district.
