Hyderabad, Sep 30 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC)General Secretary and Andhra Pradesh Party affairs in-charge M Veerappa Moily today held talks with Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Pradesh Congress Commiteee President D Srinivas on strengthening the party ahead of the 2009 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.
Mr Moily, who was in the city to represent party President Sonia Gandhi in the funeral of AIMIM leader Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, had detailed deliberations on the revamping of Pradesh Congress Committee to gear up for the polls.
Emerging out of the talks, Mr Moily said 'space' would be provided for all party leaders in the comittee.
Later, Mr Moily left for New Delhi along with D Srinivas.
Some Party leaders from Telangana appealed to Moily to take an early decision on the creation of statehood for Telanagana in view of the fast changing political developments in the state.
Mr Moily told the leaders that the party would take appropriate decision at an appropriate time, the sources said.
