Three Govt officials arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau

Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) A Deputy Director and a Section Officer of the Health department here and an Assistant Executive Engineer of Panachayat Raj department at Nalgonda district were arrested today by the Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) officials on the charge of amassing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

During simultaneous searches at different places in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, the ACB officials unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 96 lakh acquired by Deputy Director of Health Department K Appa Rao.

A case was registered against him, an official release said here.

The CBI also conducted searches at the residence of Health Department Section Officer P Ramachandra Reddy and unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.80 crore.

The assets included three houses at Warasiguda, Secunderbad and Uppal and ten house sites in the city and other places worth Rs 1.13 crore.

He was also found in possession of cash of Rs one lakh, gold ornaments worth Rs three lakh and three lorries worth Rs 32 lakh.

In another case, ACB officials unearthed assets worth Rs one crore during search at the residential premises of an Assistant Executive Engineer of Panchayat Raj Department of Nalgonda district.

The total assets, included one three storied building and a flat at Hyderbad in the city. 29 acres of agricultural land in Nalgonda and 30 acres of land at Ranga Reddy district.

All the accused would be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases, the release added.
