TDP wants PM to return without inking N-deal
Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party, a constituent of the United National Progressive Alliance(UNPA) today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to return to the country without signing the Indo-US nuclear deal and leave it to the next Government.
Addressing a press conference here, TDP Parliamentary Party leader K Yerran Naidu said it was unfair for the Prime Minister and outgoing US President to go ahead with the deal. The issue should be best left to the new Governments in both the countries.
He sought convening of Parliment session to discuss the nuclear deal issue.
Strongly opposing the Special Economic Zone(SEZ) policy of the UPA Government at the Centre and the Congress Government in Andhra Pradeh, he said his party, if voted to power would review the SEZ policy.
Contending that the ruling Congress in collusion with private players had turned the SEZs into ''real estate business,''he said the Government should have no role in purchase of land and the private players be asked to purchase the land required for their projects directly from farmers and others.
