Chandigarh, Sep 29 (UNI) All the 51 villages of Beri constituency of Haryana Speaker Raghuvir Singh Kadian will now have a library each, thanks to Rs 51 lakh allocated by the Speaker from his discretionary grant of Rs one crore.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Kadian said apart from various kinds of books, these rural libraries would also have sports material and a computer each for the benefit of the village people.
He said Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda would also allocate Rs 50,000 each for these village libraries from his discretionary funds.
These libraries, to be run by village library committees, would function under the supervision of Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Sarpanches.
Latest editions of Employment News and Rozgar Samachar would also be kept in these libraries so that the village youth were made aware of the available employment oppotunities in various fields, Mr Kadian said.
Each such library would function as a hub of actitivities in the village. he added.
The libraries would be kept open for men and women at separate timings during the day, the Speaker said.
These libraries would be inaugurated by the Speaker in various villages on October 3, 4 and 5.
