Lahore, Sep 29 (UNI) Asserting that there will be a lot of pressure on Rajasthan Royals during the inaugural Twenty-20 Champions League tournament, starting this December, Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir said the team has to maintain the same intensity level, which had helped them to become the IPL Champions.
Tanvir, who was the Purple Cap holder in the IPL for taking the highest number of wickets, played a key role in his team's title win with his outstanding performance.
''There will be pressure on not only me but the entire Rajasthan team in the Champions League as we have to reproduce the same sort of good and consistent performances that allowed us to win the IPL,'' Tanvir said.
Apart from Royals, Chennai Superkings- the runners-up will take part in the inaugural Champions League to be played at three venues in India with a three million dollar purse for the winners.
''The pressure will be there as we are IPL champions and have performed really well. I think to perform brilliantly is not that hard as it is to perform consistently so there will pressure on me as well to perform well.
''I always enjoy pressure situations and I will try to give a better performance,'' Tanvir stated.
On the upcoming challenge, the 24-year-old said he was looking forward to the big challenge and excitement of the Champions League which will also feature the Twenty20 champion teams from Australia, Pakistan, England and South Africa.
''I know it will be a big event because the IPL was the first event of its kind and it changed the face of cricket. More importantly, the matches produced high excitement levels and I think the Champions League will be no different,'' he said.
