New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) The Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today called upon the Centre to immediately notify the interim relief for journalists and non-journalists.
In a statement here, the Central Secretariat of the CPI also demanded that the interim relief for journalists and non-journalists be raised from 30 per cent, recommended by the Justice K Narayana Kurup Wage Board, to 40 per cent.
''There is a tradition that the Government of India enhances the interim relief while making the final notification. The party wants that taking into consideration the nationwide demand from the journalist and non-journalist bodies, the Government should raise it to 40 per cent,'' the statement said.
The CPI in principle supports the demand for higher interim relief due to soaring prices of all essential items,''the CPI statement added.
