Dalits, Christians take out march to protest attacks

Kolar, Karnataka, Sep 29 (UNI) Thousands of people belonging to Dalit, Christian and minority communities today took out a procession to protest the continued attacks of places of worship belonging to minority community.

The procession under the leadership of State unit President of Samatha Sainik Dal M Venkataswamy, began from the Pravasi Mandhir and went round in principal streets of Kolar.

Agitators shouted slogans decrying State Government in action in curbing such attacks. They also shouted slogans seeking ban on Bhajarang Dal and also to initiate action against RSS.

Addressing the agitators near the Asst. Commissioner's office S Y Gurushanth, Vice President of State unit of Democratic Youth Federation of India criticised the State Government for failing to nab the culprits responsible for the attacks.

He sought the State Government to ban Bhajarang Dal which he said was responsible for the continued attacks of places of worship belonging to minority people.

President of Samatha Sainik Dal and Republican Party of India Venkataswamy warned that the Dalits and minority people would launch an intensified agitation if the State Government failed to check the attack on the places of worship.

Secretary of the district unit of CPI(M) Gandhinagar Narayanaswamy, President of district unit of Prantha Raitha Sangha Holur Shankar and others also spoke on the occasion. Later the agitators presented a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner listing out their demands.
