CPI(M) to intensify campaign for industrialisation among people
Kolkata, Sep 29 (UNI) Faced with dogged opposition to industrialisation at Singur, the CPI(M) in West Bengal today decided to go for an intense campaign among the people in the coming days.
As the Nano project threatened to fizzle out and rumblings of opposition to several other projects became louder, the party's state committee alleged that an 'allout effort' was being made by the Opposition parties to stall development and industrialisation in the state.
Party's state committee Secretary Biman Basu and Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury were among others present at the meeting.
However, it also observed that there was 'increasing resentment' in the minds of the people because of the chaos what a few Opposition parties had created with their 'illogical stand' on the Sigur issue.
'' People's support to industry and development is increasig everywhere in the state. The state committee has observed that the development programme has to be implemented through intense campaign among the people, '' a statement said.
