British Council takes initiative to propogate IELTS
Bangalore, Sep 29 (UNI) The British Council has taken up an initiative to propogate International English Language Testing System (IELTS), a global English language competition certificate, by reaching out to extended fraternities like educational agents and training institutes.
Briefing newspersons today Kevin McLaven, First Secretary Educational Serivces of the British Council said the Council was presently on a non-stop tour of seven South Indian cities to meet various members of the IELTS fraternity.
The team would spend the evening in the city tomorrow with the fraternity to discuss various initiatives related to IELTS and British Council's role and efforts in making a candidate's journey smooth.
It would also share the working of the Council's new online registration system to make the registration for IELTS simpler, he said.
IELTS is an effective programme that measures true-to-life English language proficiency. More than one million candidates had taken up IELTS programme worldwide during the last one year, he added.
