Vishnudeo Sai has not expressed intention to contest polls: Raman
Raipur, Sep 28 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has denied having information about state BJP President Vishnudeo Sai's intention to contest upcoming state assembly polls.
Talking to UNI here, Dr Singh made the statement while replying to a question about the effect upon election campaign if Mr Sai contested assembly elections.
''Mr Sai has never expressed his intention to contest assembly polls before me. However, everyone has full right and the party would consider if Mr Sai proposed in this regard,'' he said.
Recently, Mr Sai had told a meeting of party workers that he was being pressurised to contest polls and would respect people's views if the party gave opportunity.
On whether several MPs had sought ticket to contest assembly polls, Dr Singh said he had not received a formal request. However, the party would consider about anyone who expressed intention.
