Sale of platform tickets stopped to foil terror attacks: Jena
Jamshepur, Sep 28 (UNI) The Railways have ordered to stop the sale of platform tickets at several stations as a safety measure to foil of terror attacks.
Railway board chairman K C Jena told UNI here today that in the wake of increasing terrorist attacks in the country, the Railways had taken several measures to foil any such attack or explosion on the stations.
''Our attention toward the turmoil being faced by the country today has made us take various safety measures. In order to prevent unwanted elements from entering into the station we have stopped sale of platform tickets at several places. Entry points of the stations are also being monitored,'' he said.
Mr Jena said close circuit television cameras and other modern gadgets were also being used to detect any suspicious activity in and around the railway stations.
