Rs 10 cr sanctioned for development of Sonamarg
Srinagar, Sep 28 (UNI) In order to make Sonamarg more attractive to tourists from across the globe, the Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for its development.
Official sources said, ''An amount of Rs 10 crore are being spent on the development of Sonamarg by the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) during the current fiscal year.'' Of this, Rs five crore have been utilised on various developmental works, so far.
They said Rs nine crore have been incurred for various developmental works by Wullar Manasbal Authority. Under the sector, 31 works have been taken in hand, of which 12 developmental works have been completed with a cost of Rs 2.10 crore.
Nearly 75 per cent works for the construction of Sonamarg-Gagan Geer tourist villages, costing Rs 78 lakh, have been completed, the sources said.
