India-France to sign nuke coop agreement
New York, Sep 28: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left for France after completing the first leg of his tour to the United States to attend India-EU Summit at Marseille and the bilateral India-France Summit with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris.
The Prime Minister will have discussions at the India-EU Summit on Monday, Sep 29 and will meet with the French President on Sep 30 before leaving for home. In Paris, India and France are expected to sign a nuclear framework agreement for cooperation in civilian nuclear energy. The agreement comes after the House of Representatives approved the Bill allowing India to conduct nuclear trade with the world by a 298-117 vote.
Before leaving for France, the Prime Minister attended a reception for the Indian community given by India's ambassador to the United States Ronen Sen.
