Bitta moots military courts
Indore, Sep 28 (UNI) All-India Anti-Terrorist Front Chairman Maninderjit Singh Bitta today said that militancy-related cases must be tackled in six months and anti-terrorist military courts be formed for that purpose.
''That would check terrorism to a considerable extent. Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru should be executed forthwith,'' he said during a meet-the-press programme at the Indore Press Club.
A committee -- with the President, Prime Minister, Supreme Court Chief Justice, Chief Of Army Staff and Union Home Secretary as members -- should be formed to free central security agencies from political interference, Mr Bitta felt.
''Recent statements by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray are material for spreading terrorism,'' he said while comparing Mr Thackeray with Damdami Taksal leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
