Bhubaneswar, Sep 27 (UNI) Police have arrested three people for running a fake job racket and collecting a huge amount of money from young educated youths across the country by issuing fake appointment letters of various companies, including some Central PSUs.
Police today said on the basis of some tips, they raided a city hotel here and arrested the three youths and recovered from their possession fake certificates, appointment letters and SIM cards besides cash worth of Rs 2.5 lakh.
It all started when the city police came to know some youths had checked in hotels last night. Police then raided these hotels.
During interrogation about 18 youths narrated their plight of how they were being cheated by the company which assured them of providing jobs in the Central public sector NTPC and other companies.
Acting on a tip off from these youths, police then raided another hotel last night and arrested the three youths - Aditya Sahoo, Gajapati Nayak and Vikas Samal.
One of the accused had opened offices in Delhi and Kharagpur.
They had taken about Rs.50,000 from each of the candidates and issued fake appointment letters.
The three accused, police said, had also supplied fake SIM cards to several persons. Police had also seized several fake SIM cards from their possession during the raid.
