Madikeri, Sep 27 (UNI) The famous 'Teertodbhava' of holy Cauvery will take place at 1442 hrs at 'Kumbalagnam' on October 17.
The water level of Cauvery will rise in the 'Kundike' at Talacauvery 'the birth place of the river cauvery' at 1442 hrs to mark the 'Teertodbhav'. It's a general occurrance which happens every year at a given period of time.
Spiritual pundits in Bangalore have announced the timings, which were recommended by astrologers in Kodagu, yesterday.
The Cauvery festival will begin on October 4. Special prayers by offering rice and pearls will be held on October 14.
District administration is expecting a large gathering of devotees, from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and other states on this occasion as 'Teertodhbhava' is falling during day time this year.
Elaborate arrangements are being made for incident-free event.
