Hyderbad, Sep 27 (UNI) A red alert has been sounded in Andhra Pradesh, following the bomb blast in New Delhi.
While condemning the incident, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy derided the cowardly act of 'anti-national elements' and vested interests in disturbing peace in the country.
The Chief Minister reviewed the law and order situation with Director General of Police S S P Yadav, City Police Commissioner B Prasada Rao and other senior police officials.
He asked the State Police to be on the alert, particularly due to the ensuing Ramzan festival.
Dr Reddy directed police to monitor the situation constantly and be vigilant round-the-clock.
The Chief Minister conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved family members of a young victim in the capital.
Meanwhile, police was conducting thorough checks at various places in the city.
