Postal services resume in north Bihar
Patna, Sep 27(UNI) The postal services hit by flood over a period of one and a half months in north Bihar finally resumed, thanks to the untiring efforts of postal staff.
The catastrophic floods in north Bihar districts like Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura, Purnia, Araria and Katihar this year had rendered millions of people homeless and snapped the postal services in the region.
The Kosi region was totally cut off from the rest of the state.
In such a critical juncture, the ''Grameen Dak Sevaks'' emerged as saviours and made it possible for the flood hit people, taking shelter in different relief camps, to gain access to the postal articles.
''After the flood, the postal staff were pressed into service to restore potal service at Purnia, Supaul and Saharsa,'' director, Postal Services Director (Bihar Circle) Pranab Kumar said.
