Govt to observe Senior Citizens Day in big way
Chandigarh, Sep 27: The Haryana government has decided to celebrate International Senior Citizens Day in a big way on October one so as to make the senior citizens conscious of their rights and maintain their dignity in the society.
Stating this here on Saturday, Sep 27, a spokesman for Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Department said that the state level function would be organised at Panchkula on that day which would be presided over by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
The Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone of a building for Senior Citizens Club and give away state level awards to the senior citizens.
He said that functions to mark Senior Citizens Day would also be organised at district headquarters.
