Washington, September 27 : Britney Spears' mother has confessed that she and her estranged hubby made use of a dispute between Britney and her then-manager to 'start taking charge' of their daughter's distressed life.
Lynne has revealed that she and Jamie realised about their daughter's downhill trip when her ex-manager Sam Lutfi blocked all familial involvement.
"We had police calling us telling us things that were going on," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
She said: "That's when we said, 'We've got to do something, we prayed about it.'
"We had been trying to get in; we couldn't... When she had an argument with that individual, who I just don't even want to talk about, that was the opening and we took advantage of it, we got in and that's when we were able to start taking charge."
Lynne, however, while speaking on the American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles radio show, confirmed Lufti was the "individual" she was referring to.
The Spears couple took over their daughter's personal and professional life in the early 2008, with dad Jamie becoming a co-conservator of the singer's property.
