Palanpur, Sep 27 (UNI) With an eye on the next Lok Sabha elections, Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party is holding a three-day long ''Chintan Shivir'' at a water park in Mehsana.
Speaking to mediapersons after the inauguration of the Shivir yesterday, BJP state president Purshottam Rupala told reporters that its main objective was to make elected members more responsive to people.
The party will direct all MLAs and MPs from the state to try and connect with people, right from the district level to remote villages.
He said a discussion will be held over co-ordination between the elected members and the organisational wing to ensure that the grievances of people are attended to.
According to the district convener of Media cell Raju Bhatt, ''besides Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Venkaiah Naidu, Arun Jaitley, Arun Shorey and several other party leaders are likely to attend the Shivir, ending on Sunday.'' Earlier, Mr Modi marked the commencement of the Shivir, by lighting a lamp, though it started late due to the ongoing state assembly session.
