Aries Chundan sets Guinness record for carrying maximum crew
Kochi, Sep 27 (UNI) The 'Aries Punnamada Urukku Chundan' has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as carrying the largest canoe crew, breaking the existing record of 118 people by carrying 141 people, a spokesman for the company owning the snakeboat said.
The canoe also holds the record of being the longest steel snake boat certified by ''Limca Book of Records,'' the spokesman for Aries Telecasting Pvt. Ltd. said here today.
The 141 people carried by the boat included 136 rowers and five helmsmen, it said.
Stating that the steel snake boat was the only one of its kind designed by the Aries Marine and Engineering Services, Dubai, the release said that it was constructed using the famous 'Autoship' software.
The 'Aries Chundan' measures 143.25 feet in length, 5.74 feet in breadth and weighs eight tonne.
