TRS stir to press for apology from Cong MP
Hyderabad, Sep 26 (UNI) Activists of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), led by its Legislature Party leader E Rajender, today staged a satyagraha in front of the Telangana Martyrs Column demanding police action against Congress MP L Rajagopal.
Raising slogans in support of statehood for Telangana, the activists demanded registration of attempt-to-murder case against the Vijayawada MP from the Coastal Andhra Region.
A party activist was injured when the MP's car, a part of External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee's convoy, hit him near Nizamabad where the Congress leaders were to attend the 60th birthday celebrations of Pradesh Congress President D Sreenivas.
Meanwhile, Former TRS Minister T Harish Rao, along with party activists, staged a dharna and got released over ten party activists picked up by the police for questioning early today in connection with yesterday's stoning Lanco Group of Industries office damaging glass and window panes.
