Titan signs agreement with Hamilton Sundstran
{image-Titan watches_26092008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Bangalore, Sep 26: Titan Industries Ltd. India's leading producer and retailer of watches and jewellery, has signed a longterm agreement with Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp.
Under the agreement Titan would manufacture high precision components for auxiliary power units, ram air turbine, flap actuator systems, engine control, environmental control systems and electronic engine controls that are deployed in leading commercial aircrafts like Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Dassault Falcon, according to a release here on Friday, Sep 26.
"We are very pleased to continue our successful partnership with Hamilton Sundstrand," said B G Dwarakanath, Chief Operating Officer, Titan's Precision Engineering Division. Titan has developed over 100 components and look forward to significantly expand this portfolio." "Hamilton Sundstrand is very keen on growing the supply base in India and has been actively working with a few suppliers," said Jay Lapointe, Vice President, Hamilton Sundstrand, Supply Chain.
"This agreement further forges our strong bonds with Titan and looking at Titan's engineering capabilities we will also explore further cooperation opportunities beyond supply of components," said Dave Galuska, Hamilton Sundstrand's Vice President Operations.
