The Council has also initiated combined Mega Textile shows as part of its promotional strategy and will be organising High Impact Shows in markets like Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and Japan. These shows are being supported by the Government and entails involvement and participation of other textile Export Promotion Councils. The Strategy is to present an integrated view of the entire Indian tectile products across the value chain and thus to improve image as a modern and reliable supplier of textile, Mr Saran added.

While speaking about policy matters, Mr Saran said that the reduction in Duty Drawback rates for 2008-09 announced by the Government has come as disappointment for the Synthetic textiles exporters.
