SRTEPC chief appeals members to take note of change in market
Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) The Synthetic&Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) Chirman Mr Sanjeev Saran has urged the members of SRTEPC to take note of the chaning market scenerio and product matrix while planning their marketing strategies to achieve the ambitious target of US dollar 3600 million for export of man made fibre by end of the current financial year.
Mr Saran told mediapersons that the council has intiated new steps to take exports of synthetic and rayon textiles to greater heights. One of its endeavours towards this strategy is the Product Development Programme. With a view to enhance the product basket, the Coucil has initiated the product development of synthetic fibre in Surat, which is the hub for synthetic filaments fibrics for which substantial assistance has been obtained from the Government under the Market Asses Incentive (MAI) Scheme.
The Council has also initiated combined Mega Textile shows as part of its promotional strategy and will be organising High Impact Shows in markets like Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and Japan. These shows are being supported by the Government and entails involvement and participation of other textile Export Promotion Councils. The Strategy is to present an integrated view of the entire Indian tectile products across the value chain and thus to improve image as a modern and reliable supplier of textile, Mr Saran added.

Saran
said
that
the
reduction
in
Duty
Drawback
rates
for
2008-09
announced
by
the
Government
has
come
as
disappointment
for
the
Synthetic
textiles
exporters.
