SJVN declares Rs 244 cr dividend
Shimla, Sep 26 (UNI) Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has declared Rs 244 crore highest ever dividend for financial year 2007-08.
SJVN Deputy General Manager VK Sharma said that SJVN, having equity partnership of Central Government and Himachal Government in 1,500 Mega Watt Nathpa Jhakri Power station being operated by SJVN Ltd had produced 6,449 Million Unit (MU) of electricity as against 6,014 MU during previous year.
Mr Sharma said that the company had achieved the highest net profit of Rs 764 crore during the year 2007-08 against Rs 737.71 crore achieved last year.
He said that SJVN Chief Managing Director HK Sharma today handed over the cheque of Rs 183 crore as dividend to Minister of Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde at New Delhi. He said that Rs 102 crore were already paid to the Central Government as interim dividend.
