Rajkot, Sep 26 (UNI) Rural Development Department (RDD) of Gujarat Government and District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) have jointly organised the 12-day national level ''SARAS-FAIR-2008'', that would commence here from October nine.
DRDA Director V C Varma, in a press conference here last evening, said the exhibition-cum-sale Fair under the brand name of SARAS (Sale of Rural Artisans of Society) will display a wide range of products manufactured by the rural artisans, craftsmen and beneficiaries of self-help-groups (SHGs) across the country. The Fair also aims at creating a unique platform for developing linkages with customers and providing an opportunity to artisans to interact with the buyers directly.
Saras-2008 Fair will exhibit over 260 stalls from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura, he said.
Cultural programmes of various states will also be a part of the Fair, Mr Varma. said.
