Kolhapur, Sep 26 (UNI) The final round of the JK Rotax Max Karting Challenge 2008, which will also decide the Indian representation in the Rotax Max World Finals in Italy later this year will be hosted here from September 27-28.
This will provide India's top two karters an opportunity to compete against the best karters in the world with more than 160 karters across 37 countries participating in the world championship.
With very few points separating leaders in both the senior and junior categories, the championship is still wide open, and this weekend's races will be a thriller.
The senior category of 16 years and above saw Mumbai racer Ameya Walavalkar of Team Mohite's Racing Academy coming up with a display of skilled and fast driving to take a well deserved win. The second place was shared by Avadumbar Hede (Mohite Racing) and Steve Hodges (Speed Rayo) while Rayomand Banajee of Meco Racing secured the third place The junior category of 13-16 years show exceptional performances by Parth Ghorpade of Team Amaron He also won both the heats and pre final rounds. The second place was Samyak Shah and the third position went to Chittesh Mandody both of Mohites Racing academy.
Dhruv Mohite of Team Mohite's Racing Academy from Kolhapur continued his dominating run to win the 15 lap race in the Micro Max category which is the 8-12 years. Kush Maini of Team Meco Motorsports finished second giving a good fight. Krishna Mahadik of Team Mohite from Kolhapur finished third.
