Chandigarh, Sep 26 (UNI) Union Fertilisers Secretary Atul Chaturvedi today assured that there would be no shortage of DAP and other fertilisers in the ensuing Rabi season in Haryana.
Interacting with senior officers of fertilisers supply companies in a meeting held here under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary Dharam Vir, he said that in view of the requirement of fertilisers during the coming Rabi season, Haryana would get a sufficient amount of fertilizers.
He assured that 11.15 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of Urea, four lakh MTs of DAP, 25000 MTs of MOP and 42500 MTs of NPK would be supplied to the state.
He clarified that Urea was under partial control but the movement of other fertilisers was not restricted and the state government was free to import DAP and MOP fertilisers to increase their comfort level.
In the meeting, Mr Dharam Vir stressed upon the need of micro level planning of fertilisers to overcome the shortage of manures in the state. He directed the officers of Agricultural Department that effective steps be taken to bridge the gap between demand and supply of manures.
