BEML, ICF qualify for second round matches

Puducherry, Sep 26 (UNI) BEML, Bangalore and ICF Chennai today qualified for the second round matches of the 30th Federation Cup Football Championships.

In an inconsequential final of the south zone qualifying matches, BEML outplayed ICF 2-1 to become the south zone winner.

BEML with three African recruits in its rank displayed some fine play with accurate markmanship.

With attacks remaining even in the initial stages of the match, ICF striker Ashok Kumar collecting a long pass dribbled past the defenders and moved forward when BEML stopper Obinna Winner, sensing danger tripped him and the resultant kick was wasted.
