Deadlock over future of Tata's project continues
Kolkata, September 25, 2008 : West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi has advocated a sensitive approach to farmers while fulfilling the industry's need for land as the row over Tata's small car project appeared to be heading to a fresh standoff on Wednesday.
Tata Motors' managing director said that the company was "actively" looking at alternatives including Karnataka. Other states have also made offers to the Tatas, conglomerate with interests ranging from salt to software.
