Melbourne, Sept 25 : Rumours are abuzz that Hollywood stunner Angelina Jolie will sign up with Australian director Phillip Noyce for his latest spy thriller movie 'Edwin A. Salt'.
However, the stunner was not helmer's first choice.
Apparently, Phillip had approached Will Smith and Tom Cruise for the role.
Tom Cruise reportedly dumped the project after initially being excited supposedly after a dispute over money, reports the Daily Telegraph.
While 'I Am Legend' star Will Smith was slated as the only worthy replacement, screenwriter Kurt Wimmer gave his script a gender reassignment to make way for the only female who could enter an action role initially made for a man - Mrs Brad Pitt.
Therefore, Noyce asked Mrs Pitt if she'd like to play a CIA agent accused of being a Russian sleeper spy.
Jolie is said to be baulking at signing up to the project having given birth to twins less than three months ago.
