IAF plans to set up engineering college in Banglore
Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) To meet the shortage of quality engineers, the Indian Air Force has proposed to set up its own engineering college in Banglore, said Air Marshal Gautam Nayyar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintainance Command.
"Indian Air Force is facing the shortage of quality engineers as most of the engineer graduates from reputed colleges prefer to join private sectors. To meet the need of well qualified technical staff for Air Force we have sent a proposal to the Government to set up an Air Force Engineering College in Banglore in which students just after completing school would be admitted." said Air Marshal Gautam Nayyar while interacting with media persons here today.
The AOC-in-C was here to attend the closing ceremony of the Inter Command Air Force School Sports Championship organised by 3 BRD.
He expressed hope that after the implementation of sixth pay commission report the IAF would attract engineers from reputed colleges also.
