IAF plans to set up engineering college in Bangalore
Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) The Air Force has proposed to set up its own engineering college in Bangalore, said Air Marshal Gautam Nayyar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintainance Command.
The Air Force is facing the shortage of quality engineers as most of the engineer graduates from reputed colleges prefer to join the private sector. To meet the need of well-qualified technical staff for Air Force, we have sent a proposal to the government to set up an Air Force Engineering College in Bangalore in which students, just after completing school would be admitted,'' said Air Marshal Gautam Nayyar while interacting with mediapersons here today.
The AOC-in-C was in Chandigarh to attend the closing ceremony of the Inter Command Air Force School Sports Championship organised by 3 BRD.
He expressed hope that after the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report, the IAF would attract engineers from reputed colleges also.
