Haryana Deaf and Dumb Championship to begin in Sirsa from Sept 27

Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) The two-day 8th Haryana State Level Deaf and Dumb Sports Championship will be organised at Saheed Bhagat Singh Sports Stadium, Sirsa, on September 27 and 28.

An official spokesman said that Haryana Deaf and Dumb Welfare Society Chairperson Anita Sharma would inaugurate the championship whereas Sirsa Deputy Commissioner V Umashankar would distribute the prizes on the concluding day of the championship.

He said that more than 250 sportspersons would participate in the championship. The competition would be organised in three different age groups.

A total 29 sports event would be organised out of which 22 would be of athletics.

In athletics championship, race of 100 metre, 200 metre and 400 metre, long jump, discuss throw, shot-put and 4x100 metre relay race would be organized for boys below 16 years age group. Similarly, competitions of 100, 200 and 400 metre race, long jump, discuss throw and shot-put would be organized for girls in this age group.

He said that 100 metre race, frog race, one leg race competitions would also be organized for both boys and girls in the age group below 12 years. Similarly, for children below eight years, 50 metres race, frog race and a minute game show would be organized.

Apart from this, colorful cultural programmes would also be presented on the inaugural day.

The spokesman said that all arrangements had been made to facilitate sportspersons during the competition. A mobile medical van would also be deployed on sports premises.
