Hyderabad, Sep 24 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasekar Rao today said his party was open to talks with Praja Rajyam Party founded by actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi for forging an electoral alliance for the 2009 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Rao said his party's main objective was to ensure the defeat of the ruling Congress, which allegedly ditched the Telangana people on grant of statehood for the region.
While stating that it was too early to decide on electoral understanding, Mr Rao said his party was ready for talks with Mr Chiranjeevi's PRP.
Meanwhile, TRS MP B Vinod held talks with TDP Legislature Party Deputy Leader K Srihari in Warangal to discuss the political situation in the wake of CPI State Secretary K Narayana's luncheon meeting with Mr Rao.
Meanwhile, the party decided to field sitting MLAs who had retained their seats in the recent byelections forced by the TRS to put pressure on the ruling Congress to concede the Statehood demand.
Giving an indication of political realignment in the future, the TDP, TRS, CPI, CPI(M) and BSP had floor coordination in the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly on various issues.
The TDP and TRS had also moved No Confidence motion against Speaker K R Suresh Reddy and held a joint agitation against the way the State Assembly was abruptly adjourned after rushing through the voice vote on the No Trust Motion.
