SAYSS supporter succumbs to burn injuries
Jammu, Sep 24 (UNI) The supporter of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS), who attempted self-immolation on monday, today succumbed to his burn injuries at PGI Chandigarh, sources here said.
''Fruit vendor Jaswant Singh Jasrotia, 35, reportedly succumbed to his burn injuries in Chandigarh two days after attempting self-immolation during a bandh call given by the Samiti,'' sources told UNI.
Shouting, 'Bum, Bum, Bholay' Jaswant Singh sprinkled kerosene and attempted self-immolation in Ghagwal town of Samba district on September 22.
He was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital from where he was referred to the Medical College Hospital Jammu with over 75 per cent burn injuries. His condition was stated to be critical.
He was later air-lifted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (Chandigarh) for specialised treatment on the same day where he succumbed to his burn injuries today, sources asserted.
