Rupee declines to 45.74 against US Dollar
Mumbai, Sep 24: The rupee on Wednesday, Sep 24 slid by two paise to 45.74 from its previous finish of 45.72 on sustained dollar buying by local operators.
Dealers said ''The partially-convertible rupee was weaker today, as banks bought dollars locally to arbitrage in the offshore market. But, trade was thin as a two-day strike called by nationalised bank empoyees from Wednesday, Sep 24 affected volume. Later, the domestic currency was trading in a range between 45.76 and 45.89 per dollar.
