Washington, Sept 24 : American actor Robert Wagner has revealed in his new autobiography that he had an affair with American actress Barbara Stanwyck.
Wagner writes in the book that he was just 22-years-old, and Stanwyck 46, when their affair started.
He has revealed that he had met the actress on the set of the 1953 drama film 'Titanic'.
The affair was something like the story in the current movie 'Tadpole', in which a young man is seduced by his stepmother's friend, and Miramax has been trying to promote the idea of "tadpoling" as this summer's trend.
"I was her love. I wasn't her 'Tadpole'. She was a wonderful woman, wonderful lady. It was a great time in my life, to be a young actor in the motion picture business. She was very influential," Fox News quoted him as saying in an interview with them in 2002.
According to Wagner, his affair with Stanwyck lasted for five years, and that they remained close until her death in 1990.
He has also written about how they managed to conceal it during that whole time.
"It was all handled. We were very discreet. And I think they might have, I think it came out a little bit. But we had a few beards," he writes.
