Rajkot, Sep 24 (UNI) Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Group President (Corporate Affairs) Parimal Nathwani has decided to focus his energies on active politics after he was elected as member of Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand recently.
For this, he has decided to shift to his base to New Delhi from Ahmedabad.
Mr Nathwani, a familiar figure in the corridors of power, in a letter to close associates, said ''I have an added responsibility and commitment as an MP too. It therefore necessitates shifting to Delhi, so that I can serve my new constituency, that is, Jharkhand.'' Mr Nathwani, who had played a pivotal role in acquisition of land and properties for RIL's first refinery at Jamnagar, was also serving as chairman of Reliance Rural Development Trust, vice-chairman of Dwarkadheesh Devasthan Samiti and director of Vadodara Stock Exchange.
Besides this, he was a permanent invitee in executive of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Gujarat Cricket Association.
