Chandigarh, Sep 24 (UNI) Over 12134 tonnes of Paddy and 78247 metric tonnes of Bajra have arrived in the mandis of Haryana during current Kharif season so far.
A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, 3560 tonnes had been procured by government agencies and the remaining about 8574 tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 2899 tonnes leviable and 5675 tonnes non leviable Paddy.
He said that HAFED had procured 1350 tonnes, Food and Supplies Department had procured 1930 tonnes of Paddy and Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 280 tonnes.
District Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 4735 tonnes, followed by Karnal 3777 tonnes and Kaithal 2905 tonnes.
Out of the total Bajra arrival, 63857 metric tonnes had been procured by government agencies and the remaining about 14390 metric tonnes had been purchased by the private traders.
Giving the firther details he said that HAFED had procured 21814 metric tonnes, Food and Supplies Department had procured 7001 metric tonnes of Bajra and Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 11037 metric tonnes, HWC 10598 metric tonnes and CONFED 13407 metric tonnes.
He said that district Rewari was leading with the arrival of 15402 metric tonnes, followed by Sonipat 14336 metric tonnes, Rohtak 12422 metric tonnes and Jind 9730 metric tonnes.
