Chennai, Sep 24 (UNI) A fine half century by David Hussey (74) and useful contributions from the middle order betsman helped Australia-A score 272 for six wickets against India-A in the last league match of the tri-series here today.
Both the teams have already qualified for Friday's final and today's match was seen as a dress rehearsal for both the teams ahead of the summit clash.
Electing to bat first, the Aussies lost Adam Voges (5) early.
But other opener Marcus North 40 (52 balls), and David Hussey 74 (67 balls) combined well and added 96 runs for the second wicket in 16.1 overs.
Thereafter the middle order batsmen all got starts but failed to build on it. Skipper Cameron White chipped in with 30 (46 balls), George Baily contributed 36 (46 balls, 3x4) and Phillip Hughes remained unbeaten on 49 (58 balls, 4x4).
Ashley Noffke, who blasted 33 in just 19 balls provided the final thrust to help the team past the 250-mark.
For India-A medium pacer Praveen Kumar and leg spinner Piyush Chawla claimed two wickets each.
